Open "Add or Remove Programs" From My Computer

This Tweak allows you to create an "add/remove Programs" option in the context menu that comes while you right click the My Computer icon on the Desktop.


Follow these steps:
Open Registry editor (start > Run> then type "regedit" (without quotes) and press enter button
this will open registry editor
then follow this path  ...

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Add/Remove Programs\command
 
If  "Add/Remove Programs" and "Command" keys are not in your computer,
 then right click on the "shell" key in the left pane 
and select new>key and give the name "Add/Remove Programs" (without quotes),
 then right click on the "Add/Remove Programs" key in the left pane
 and select new>key and give the name "Command" (without quotes).
 
Then double click on "Default" key and give it the name "control appwiz.cpl" (without quotes).
 
Wrong settings in the registry may cause an unpredictable problems to your Windows. So carefully change the appropriate values.   
 
 

Minimize the System Shutdown Time

Follow these steps:
(Generally, the default time for the system to shutdown is 20 seconds. You can minimize the time even for 5 seconds.)
Open Registry editor (start > Run> then type "regedit" (without quotes) and press enter button
this will open registry editor
then follow this path  ...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
On the right pane you can find a string value  "WaitToKillAppTimeout"


Double click “WaitToKillAppTime” and modify its default value 20000 to 5000 and click the OK button

Logoff / Restart to see the changes.

Adding a Web Counter to Your Blog

Follow these Steps
1. Go to http://www.hitwebcounter.com/   and select your favorite web counter and  press the get counter code button and copy the code that comes on the next page
2. Log into your Blog spot account.
3. Go to the Design Area.

4. Click one of the “Add a Gadget” links at the bottom or to the right of your blog layout area (as indicated in the below shown picture).
5. Clicking “Add a Gadget” that will  open a new window similar to the following picture
6. Scroll down through the list of Basic gadgets to find the HTML/Javascript gadget  to add the gadget to your blog. 
7. Paste the Code you copied earlier into the content section of the gadget
8. Now save and Look at your Blog, you can see the hit web counter....

Type Malayalam without knowing any keyboard i.e., Manglish (മലയാളം മംഗ്ലീഷില്‍ ടൈപ്പ് ചെയ്യാം ..)

Most People know this I dedicated this for people who were ignorant of this...

Now I will explain the steps:


First Download Google IME from http://www.google.com/ime/transliteration/
Installation Procedure

(If you are on a 64-bit Windows, make sure you have selected the 64-bit radio button in the download page) and run the installer and follow the instructions on screen. 
  • More than one language IME can be installed on the same client machine.
  • Requirements are Windows 7/Vista/XP 32-bit/64-bit operating systems.
  • Only one instance of IME will be installed per machine but the configuration is done for each user using IME.





If you want to use IME with any application like notepad, you must first open the application and then open our IME. IME can be opened by clicking on the language bar on the desktop and then selecting the IME language icon or through a shortcut key if it's already configured. To close IME, you can change the language in language bar or try right clicking on the current application to see whether it supports 'Close IME' popup menu option or by closing the current application.

Displaying Language Bar
  • In desktop, right click on tool bar and select Toolbars -> Language bar

Enabling Language Bar

If the 'Language bar' option is not visible in 'Toolbars', then it needs to be enabled through control panel:
    Windows XP
    1. Go to Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages tab -> Text services and input languages (Details) -> Advanced Tab
    2. Make sure that under System configuration, option Turn off advanced text services is NOT checked.
    3. Go to Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages tab -> Text services and input languages (Details) -> Settings Tab
    4. Click Language Bar
    5. Select Show the Language bar on the desktop. Click OK.
    6. If you are installing the IME for East Asian language or Right-To-Left language, go to Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages Tab
    7. Make sure that options Install files for complex scripts and right to left languages and Install files for East Asian languages are checked in the checkboxes. This requires installation of system files and the system will prompt to insert the Operating System Disc.
    8. Apply all settings and try to display language bar as mentioned in previous section.



    Windows 7/Vista
    1. Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Keyboard and Languages tab
    2. Click on Change keyboards... button to open Text services and input languages dialog
    3. Navigate to Language Bar tab
    4. Enable the radio button Docked in the taskbar under Language Bar section
    Apply all settings and try to display language bar as mentioned in previous section.

    IME Shortcut

    A shortcut key sequence can be applied to the IME as follows which can be used to quickly enable IME for any in-focus application:

    Windows 7/Vista
    1. Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Keyboard and Languages tab
    2. Click on Change keyboards... button to open Text services and input languages dialog
    3. Navigate to Advanced Key Settings tab
    4. If Google <Language> Input is not listed in Installed Services box, then click Add and in Add Input language dialog box, go to the language for which you want to enable IME in the languages tree and expand the node. Check the checkbox next to Google <Language> Input in the list.
    5. In Hot keys for input languages Select To <Language> - Google <Language> Input
    6. Press Change Key Sequence
    7. Select Enable Key Sequence
    8. Select option like Left ALT + SHIFT + Key 1
    9. Apply all changes
    10. Now opening an application like notepad and pressing Left ALT + SHIFT + Key 1 should open the IME.
    Windows XP
    1. Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages tab -> Text services and input languages (Details) -> Settings Tab
    2. If either <Language> or Google <Language> Input not listed in Installed Services box, then click Add and in Add Input language dialog box, select <Language> in Input language and Google <Language> Input in Keyboard layout/IME. Click OK
    3. Press Key Settings
    4. In Hot keys for input languages, Select Switch to <Language>-Google <Language> Input
    5. Press Change Key Sequence
    6. Select Enable Key Sequence
    7. Select option like Left ALT + SHIFT + Key 1
    8. Apply all changes
    9. Now opening an application like notepad and pressing Left ALT + SHIFT + Key 1 should open the IME.

    Disable Right Click on the taskbar

    Follow these steps:
    Open Registry editor (start > Run> then type "regedit" (without quotes) and press enter button
    this will open registry editor
    then follow this path  ...
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer 
    Now on the right pane right click and select a new>DWORD and give it the name "NoTrayContextMenu" (with out quotes) and double click on it and set its value to "1" (with out quotes). Log off or  Restart  the system to see the changes.

    Prevent Access to "Settings" tab of "Dispaly Properties"

    Prevent users from changing your monitor resolution, color, refresh rate etc..
    Follow these steps:
    Open Registry editor (start > Run> then type "regedit" (without quotes) and press enter button
    this will open registry editor
    then follow this path  ...

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ CurrentVersion\ Policies \System 

    if "System" key not found, then right click on "Policies" and select new>key and give the name "System" (with out quotes).
    Select "System" and on the right pane right click the mouse button and select new>stringvalue, and give it the name "NoDispSettingsPage" (without quotes)  and doubleclick on it and set its value to "1" (without quotes)

    If you need to block the whole display properties then type "NoDispCPL" (without quotes) instead of "NoDispSettingsPage" remaining options are the same.

    Do you need to Speedup the Windows XP Start Menu


    Follow these steps:
    Open Registry editor (start > Run> then type "regedit" (without quotes) and press enter button
    this will open registry editor
    then follow this path  ...
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

     Then on the right pane you can find a string " MenuShowDelay", double click on it and change its value to 2 (it might be 400 or something). Then refresh and close the registry you can find how fast you can see start> programs etc..... Enjoy..............
    Values to be modified
    "MenuShowDelay"="2"

    Do you need to Rename Recycle Bin in windows Xp

    Follow these steps:
    Open Registry editor (start > Run> then type "regedit" (without quotes) and press enter button
    this will open registry editor
    then follow this path  ...

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder
    .
    Then on the right pane you can find two binary values namely "Attributes" and "Call for Attributes"
    Double click on "Attribute" and edit its value to 50,01,00,20 (it may be 40,01,00,20) and Double click "CallForAttribute" and then click the "decimal" radio button and enter value data 0 (zero). Refresh and close the registry and rightclick Recycle Bin you can see "Rename" option.

     Values to be modified
    "Attributes"=hex:50,01,00,20
    "CallForAttributes"=dword:00000000
